Below is a list of Scholarship Funds that have been established by donors to support West Catholic Prep in its Lasallian mission of providing a quality education to all qualified and deserving young men and women. These named funds are both academic and need-based in nature and are awarded in addition to the school-based financial aid. West Catholic Prep awards approximately $1,000,000 in scholarships and financial aid each year to its students through these named funds and other fundraising activities. Maguire Scholars Program – Awarded to incoming freshmen who show Financial Need, Academic Ability, Personal Growth and Development, Commitment to Community Service and Extracurricular Activity. The scholarship is renewable for each of the four years of high school, given that the Maguire Scholar maintains standards established through the Program.
Howley Family Foundation Scholarship Program - The purpose is to assist well rounded students with strong academic credentials to attend private high schools. Though the amount may vary on a case by case basis, the award will generally be a scholarship of between $1,500 and $3,000 per year for four years of attendance. Howley Scholars will be identified by a selection committee and the Scholarship remains with the Howley Scholars for their term at West Catholic Prep as long as Award standards are met.
Seed the Dream Scholars Program – These scholarships are awarded specifically to qualified and deserving students matriculating from St. Francis de Sales school.
St. John Baptist de La Salle Fund – These funds are to assist the neediest students financially in providing access to Lasallian schools if without such help they otherwise would not be able to afford to attend.
C. Gerard ‘49 and Mary ’51 Kramer Endowed Scholarship Fund – Established by Gerard and Mary Kramer, this endowed fund distributes annual scholarships to qualified and deserving students, as identified by a selection committee, whom matriculate from St. Francis de Sales school. This grant remains with the Kramer Scholar for their term at West Catholic Prep as long as academic and character standards are met.
Msgr. Vincent Walsh ‘53 Grant Program – Supported by Msgr. Walsh and the Spanish community of Philadelphia, grants are made annually to students of Spanish decent.
John Dockray ‘46 Scholarship Fund – A full four-year scholarship for a qualified and deserving student from St. Francis de Sales school.
Robert and Margaret "Peggy" McNamara Family Grant – Established by Peter McNamara, Esq. in honor of his parents. The McNamara Scholarship is an annual award to a qualified and deserving student.
Margaret Porter ‘40 Scholarship Grant – Established by Margaret Porter, and supported by Alumnae Association, this grant is annually awarded to qualified and deserving Catholic West Catholic Prep girls.
Flora DeLaurentis Scholarship Fund - Established as trust by Flora DeLaurentis, and supported by Alumnae Association, this grant is annually awarded to qualified and deserving Catholic West Catholic Prep girls.
