Meet Our New School President, Sister Danielle Gagnon, RSM
|
Dear West Catholic Preparatory High School Community, In January, I wrote to share that Mr. Andrew Brady ‘02 would be leaving service with West Catholic Preparatory High School effective June 12th to join the Connelly Foundation as Senior Program Officer for Access & Opportunity. As you know, a rigorous search process has been underway since that time to identify his successor. Today, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the search process has concluded. Representatives from the Office of Catholic Education, along with West Catholic Prep’s administration and board of directors, identified Sister Danielle Gagnon, RSM as the ideal candidate for this post. Archbishop Pérez accepted the recommendation and has appointed Sister Danielle as your next school president, effective Monday, June 15th. A Sister of Mercy, who professed her final vows in 2019, Sister Danielle joined the West Catholic community earlier this year when she began serving as Director of Student Success and Partnerships. She holds 25 years of exemplary service in education at the middle and high school levels in roles including classroom teacher, campus minister, and school administrator. Prior to joining West Catholic Prep, Sister Danielle spent four years at Merion Mercy Academy, holding two distinct roles: first as Director of Mission, Ministry, and Belonging, and then as Assistant Head of School for Mission Integration. Sister Danielle’s own educational background includes a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Humanities from Harvard University Extension School as well as a Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality from Fordham University. She also holds certifications in Spiritual Guidance from Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington, DC and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University. Sister Danielle has demonstrated an enthusiastic commitment to Catholic Education and has expressed a particular devotion to the virtues of LaSallian education guided by the wisdom of Saint John Baptist de LaSalle. Please join me in extending prayerful best wishes to Sister Danielle as she assumes this new role and be assured of my prayers for you and your families at the beginning of this summer break. Sincerely, |
