Academics

Join a community of students with a range of backgrounds and beliefs that will help enrich your life. Learn from faculty members who care about who you are and what you want to become.

West Catholic Prep will prepare you for life after high school. We have always been well-known in the community for providing our students with rigorous academics and building the discipline they need to achieve at higher levels. Our innovative block schedule provides an experience that is more realistic to post high school life. Increased class time provides both students and teachers the time needed to explore course materials, rather than swiftly moving from class to class throughout the day. It also allows for more electives that offer you an opportunity to focus on the subjects that most interest you.

Departments

West Catholic Prep offers Honors, College Prep, and Remedial programs of studies. Each student is academically placed according to ability and previous achievement. Minimum requirements for graduation include four years of religion, English, and social studies, three years of mathematics and science, two years of foreign language, a course in physical education and health, fine arts, and technology. There is a strong technology component to the academic program, including an Apple and PC lab. Additional credits are available from a wide variety of courses in several academic disciplines.

West Catholic’s academic enterprise is organized into 10 departments.

Engineering Technology Academy

West Catholic Preparatory High School, in collaboration with Drexel University, offers an Engineering Technology Academy.
