Class of 2023 celebrated as they begin high school

On the evening of September 4th 135 young men and women and their families arrived to the West Catholic Prep auditorium to be officially recognized and celebrated as members of the West Catholic Prep Class of 2023.  Each student received a pin from the student body President Javon Hitson ’20.  The 135 students in the class of 2023 represent the largest freshmen class in the last decade.

School President Paul Colistra in his remarks, thanked the parents “Thank you for your belief in West Catholic Prep.  I know you had many options, and sending your child to this school requires a real financial sacrifice, but I am grateful for your belief in us. We are committed and will work hard every day to live up to that belief.”

Following the ceremony students and their families had a chance to enjoy dinner, and celebrate this new beginning as a true school community.  Colistra when asked why this event is important “Community is important to us here, and this is a chance for us to celebrate this new beginning and begin to instill that sense of community in these students.  We want every one of our children and their families to feel appreciated, and welcome, and things like this go a long way to making that happen.”

Best of luck to the class of 2023 on this new beginning!
