Football wins District 12 Championship!

On Saturday November 12th the West Catholic Football Team squared off against Valley Forge Military Academy. West entered the game with a 6-5 record, coming fresh off a 65-8 victory over Strawberry Mansion.

West finshed in third place in the Catholic League Blue Division after a heart breaking double overtime loss to Cardinal O’Hara by a score of 27-26. Had the Burrs won that game they would have finished as Blue Divison Champions.

The Burrs were in control early against Valley Forge, having scored 58 points in the first half alone. The team finished with a balanced rushing attack, with 7 players carrying the ball at least once. Calil Wortham led all rushers and finished the game with 7 rushes for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Supreme Kemp had 6 rushes for 40 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Burrs will continue their quest for a State title with a game against Schuykill Haven on Saturday November 19th at 1pm at Northern Lehigh High School. Come out and support the Burrs!
