New Boys Basketball Coach Announced

West Catholic Preparatory High School announced today that it has hired Jason Hasson as Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Hasson comes to West Catholic Prep after spending five seasons at Pope John XXIII High School in Sparta, NJ, where he compiled a 108-37 record and captured the school’s first ever state championship in 2014-15. Last season, Pope John spent several weeks in the #1 spot in the state rankings over renowned programs like St. Anthony’s and St. Patrick’s, and entered the USA Today National Rankings at #14.

Hasson’s basketball pedigree is rich, most notably serving three seasons as an assistant coach at St. Anthony’s High School in Jersey City, NJ where he was mentored by legendary Hall of Fame Coach, Bob Hurley. In the 2011 season, St. Anthony’s went a perfect 33-0 and won the High School National Championship. Hasson also worked as assistant coach at American Christian School in Aston, PA where he coached future NBA Rookie of the Year, Tyreke Evans.

Hasson has a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. He returns to his home state of Pennsylvania with his wife, young son, and a second child due in October.
