Student Spotlight: Junior Senette Wiah

What are your favorite things about being a student at West Catholic?

I love being a student at West because of the people; Faculty and staff are always available to help and support the students, and there are also a lot of activities and sports to participate in. It’s a great way for students to connect with other students and try new things!

Are you engaged in any extracurriculars at West Catholic?

I am on the softball team and participate in Fashion Club, Burr Radio, WestNet, National Honor Society, Spoken Word, and I help out in the school store.

What are your favorite subjects at the school?

My favorite subjects are anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and computer science. I love the sciences because the learning is so hands-on at West. I really enjoy the idea of finding the solutions to problems and testing those solutions.

How do you think your education has or will impact your future?

West Catholic has introduced me to diverse people and views. I think this exposure will only help me in college and beyond, by making me more comfortable listening to and learning from others.

Where do you see yourself after you graduate from West Catholic?

After graduating from West Catholic Prep, I see myself attending an HBCU, majoring in anthropology, and minoring in computer science.

What’s an interesting fact many people don’t know about you?

One interesting fact about me is that I love to write. For awhile, I was planning to explore a career in journalism after college.
